  • If you attended the Macon Women of Today's third annual Save a Rack event, you may have gotten more than you bargained for.
"Honestly some of it was unexpected," said Save a Rack Chairman Lois Noland. "But we were pleased with the amount of money we raised."
The event consisted of a "totes for tatas" silent auction, "booby trap" contest, meal catered by Noland's Catering, live auction and of course the Mr. Jugs competition.
"Our event was a success," said Women of Today President Laura Morris. "We raised more than $6,800 for the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund for breast cancer. And everyone seemed to have a great time."
The funds given to the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund will be passed onto individuals fighting breast cancer who live in Macon County.
"Since we started the Randy Johnson Memorial Fund in 2002, we have raised over $150,000," said Randy Johnson Memorial Fund Secretary/Treasurer Pam Maloney. "We are so appreciative toward the Women of Today for all of their hard work."
