  • The Samaritan Hospital Board of Trustees kept their meeting short and sweet Tuesday evening. Here are a couple things you might have missed.
    1. The Wound Clinic has 43 patients and four hyperbaric patients currently leaving the hospital ahead of schedule on the number of patients it originally anticipated.
    2. Tom Yates has been hired as the new Ambulance Director. "He will do a great job for us," said Hospital Administrator Berne Orman. Yates starts his new position on September 30.
    3. There was an increase in inpatient care for the month of July leaving the July income statement with a positive balance of $101,634. According to Financial Executive Susan Spencer, the inpatient care was up by 61 percent for July.
    4. The August ER satisfaction survey results came back fairly positive, said Hospital Administrator Bern Orman. The results showed approximately 97 percent of individuals were satisfied with the level of care they received in the ER.
