  • Loch Haven Senior Living Community in Macon will celebrate the Grand Opening of the Loch Haven Cottages with a day of festivities on Friday, May 10. The day's activities begin with a dedication ceremony and ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. with open house and tours to follows. Tours will include the new Oak View and Cedar View Cottages as well as the new Activity Room of the Loch Haven Apartments. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. a Community Appreciation Bar-B-Que will be held with tours continuing.
"We are excited to kick off National Nursing Home Week a little early by holding our Community Bar-B-Que along with our Cottage Grand Opening. After all this has been a community effort," says Byron Freeman, Loch Haven Administrator.
"If it hadn't been for community support, the Cottages would not have been built. We have opened the first of our two Cottages and are anticipating the opening of the second in just a few short weeks. The residents who have moved in are very much enjoying their new home. They along with the Cottage Staff look forward to showing off the Cottages to those who attend the grand opening."
Loch Haven Senior Living Community, located at 701 Sunset Hills Drive in Macon, has always led the way in Long Term Care. The campus includes the Legacy Facility providing long and short term skilled care, the Loch Have Apartments for Assisted Living, the Special Brook Neighborhood for Alzheimer's and dementia, and now the Loch Haven Cottages. The two skilled care cottages are the first in the state of Missouri. Each features 12 private bedrooms and bath, open dining and living area with a hearth, a spa room, library with computer and many more amenities.
Several community leaders will be on hand for the dedication ceremony, and the ribbon cutting will be hosted by the Macon Area Chamber of Commerce. "We invite the community to come out for all or part of the day to help us celebrate. We are so excited to let everyone see what the future of Long Term Care looks like... right here in Macon," said Freeman.
