  • The following is a list of general highway construction and maintenance scheduled for April 29 through May 10 for Macon County in MoDOT's northeast district. This work will include lane closures and at times delays can be expected. All work is weather dependent and could be delayed or rescheduled.
    Crews will be working during daylight work hours unless otherwise indicated. Various forms of traffic control such as flaggers, portable traffic signals, cautionary signs, and protective trucks will be in place to secure the safety of the motoring public as well as the safety of highway crews.
    With the exception of some short-term maintenance work on various low traffic volume roads, all roadwork is posted on the traveler information map daily. Motorists are encouraged to check the online map at www.modot.org for new work zones each day. MoDOT also offers messages sent directly to your email when roadwork is scheduled.     Route C - Chip Seal from Macon Street in Bevier to the Randolph County line; 0% complete - Project inactive, schedule pending; Estimated Completion: Fall 2013; Macon Project Office
    MO 156 - April 29-30 closed from 7 a.m. until Tuesday afternoon for bridge maintenance at the Walnut Creek Bridge, located between Evergreen Avenue and Colorado Avenue near Gifford; alternate routes of travel should be taken over Routes 3, J and 149, or Routes 3, 11 and 149.
    Route T - May 5 road closed 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. from Route C to Galaxy Ave. for culvert replacement
    Us 63 - May 6-10 one lane traffic 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. from Route PP to Adair County line for bridge washing in various locations
    Various Routes - April 29-May 10 possible intermittent lane closures or slow moving vehicles blocking driving lane for surface and/or roadside maintenance operations in various locations.
