  • The following Macon Moments in History was taken from the April 22, 1980 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    The mock city council that is made up of members of the “Challenge of Democracy” at Macon High School taught by Randy Smith. Mock councilman Donnie Bonuchi who was chairman of the fire committee moved that the council look for a new site for the fire department closer to the center of town. Mock city councilwoman Robin McLeland was chairman of the parks and recreation committee.
    7th graders planted trees in the wildlife area behind the school under the direction of instructors John Tate and Marc Romine.
    The Macon Building & Loan Assn. was honoring Ann Lenzini for her 25th year of employment.
