My mom always says to keep good friendships alive takes energy. I believe she
means the energy of calling or writing or visiting each other can be hard, but if people are
willing to do this, friendship will remain strong.
In my case I believe for someone to be my friend takes hard work, patience, and a
large amount of unconditional love. I realize it is hard to initiate a friendship with
someone who communicates only through the media of typing. This one thing alone
drives people away--- Not because they have no interest, but because they are simply
uncomfortable with the idea.
So, in my life, besides my parents and family and friends much older than I, I have
one true friend, Dominica Jean, my sister. She is and has always been there for me
and is the only person who takes time to communicate with me besides my mom. She
understands what a true friend is, not to mention a loving sister.
