Fay Jacobs, of New Franklin, passed away January 26, 2013 At Loch Haven Nursing Center in Macon, Missouri. She was 88 years old.
She was born in New Franklin on September 30, 1924 to Clarence William and Bessie Estell White Zeller. On March 25, 1944 she married Paul W. Jacobs at Rev. Holcomb's home in New Franklin.
Mrs. Jacobs was a much respected and admired kindergarten teacher and later secretary to the elementary school principal at New Franklin Elementary School. She was a longtime member of the New Franklin First Baptist Church and a member of TOPS. Mrs. Jacobs and her husband were also actively involved in leadership of the New Franklin Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts for many years.
Survivors include a brother, Joe Zeller and wife, Margaret of Independence; a sister, Jeanie Speck of Macon; nephew, Rod Zeller and wife Joan; niece, Stephanie Diaprai and husband, Richard; great-nephew, Robby Zeller; great-niece, Miranda Diaprai step-great nephew, Michael Lewis; step-great nieces, Tiffany Wagner and Danielle Russell, and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Paul, preceded her in death December 27, 2007.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Markland-Yager Funeral Home in New Franklin with Rev. Don Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in New Franklin. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
