    Dean and Pam Burris along with several friends and family members attended the 86th birthday party of Bobby Buck on his actual birthday, Saturday, Jan. 19 at the La Plata Nursing.
    Elmer Baptist Church had 19 for Sunday school and 23 for worship service. Pastor Zach Vicars' message was entitled "Behold, the Lamb of God" taken from John 1:29-37. This week memory verse is John 1:29.
    The Elmer Baptist Church held its monthly mission study after morning worship on Jan. 20 with seven present. Pastor Zach and Amy Vicars of Kirksville; Debbie Atha and Stanley Shott of Ethel; Alvina Howe and Dean and Pam Burris ate a spaghetti lunch with salad and dessert before the study. The study was on church planting in Vermont. Next mission study will be Feb. 17 following morning service.
    Dean and Pam Burris spent Tuesday night with Mike, Melanie, Mady and Maddox Tipton of Trenton. Betty Tipton of Macon spent Tuesday and Wednesday night with them. The grandmothers went with Mike, Melanie and Mady to Liberty on Wednesday to be with Mady while she had her tonsils removed. Dean stayed home with Maddox. The nurses asked her what was her favorite part of school and she replied, "Well, duh, going home, of course."
    Dean and Pam Burris and Pastor Zach Vicars attended the executive board meeting of Thousand Hills Baptist Association at First Baptist Church Kirksville. Lonnie Johnson, pastor at Lancaster gave the message.
