The Macon Jaycees met on Jan. 9. The meeting was called to order: by President Lorie Thompson. Jeff Renshaw led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Anyone not wearing a Jaycees name badge at meetings or project is asked to donate $1. Money collected through this fundraiser will be donated to Wonderland Camp. If you need a name badge let Jerry Thompson know. Dede Spidle paid $1.
Kristy Lea gave the secretary’s report. The minutes from the last meeting were approved.
The treasurer’s report was given by Dede Spidle.
Officer reports were given by Membership Vice-President, Dede Spidle and Community Vice-President Laura McCully.
The Children’s Christmas Party went well. It was suggested that next year a meeting be planned prior to the event with the Women of Today to discuss issues.
Individual Development Vice-President: Patrick Fredrick reported that the Blue Chip Work Day & 2013 Chapter Planning was scheduled for Jan. 11.
Management Vice-President Kyla Wilcox reported on the Decal Sales. Chairman Kristy Lea will be placing an acknowledgment in the newspaper soon.
Bill & Kris Noyes, chairmen, reported on the Trash Bag Sales.
Old Business:
Missouri Jaycees State Meeting was to be held Jan. 18-20. Scheduled to attend were: Lorie and Jerry Thompson, Mary & Kevin Linear, Bill & Kris Noyes, Ernie & Kristie Lea, Kristy Lea, Patrick Fredrick, Dede & Sam Spidle.
The Installation Banquet was scheduled for Jan. 12 at the Jaeger Coffee House.
New Business:
3rd & 4th Grade Basketball Tournament, possible dates were suggested as March 1st & 2nd.
The Super bowl Party on Feb. 3, needs a new location.
Upcoming events include the Relay Kick Off and the Hannibal Wing Ding.
The meeting adjourned with the Jaycee Creed led by Patrick Fredrick.
The next membership meeting was scheduled for Jan. 23.
