  • Martin Luther King Breakfast cancelled

    • email print
  • This year's Martin Luther King Fellowship Breakfast has fallen on the same day as the Presidential Inauguration. After careful consideration, it was decided that everyone should have the opportunity to witness this event. Also, Reverend Dr. Jordan Davis, who is the originator of Macon's breakfast celebration and also the speaker for the event, will have direct involvement in the inauguration activities in Washington D. C. Due to these circumstances, the breakfast has been canceled.
The purpose of this breakfast is to raise donations for Macon County Ministries' (MCM) utility fund for needy families in our community. MCM is still asking churches, organizations and individuals to take special offerings for the cause. Checks can be made out to Macon County Ministries with MLK Breakfast as a note. Send donations by January 30 to Rose Harris at 216 East 2nd Street in Macon.
