  • The following Macon Moments in History were taken from the October 11 & 12, 1982 editions of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    Tiffany Gaunt and Sally Powers were among 73 girls who twirled in a National Baton Twirling Association contest held at the Macon Middle School. Also pictured were Laura Wilson, Michelle Bruno and Betsy Clarke.
    Ground beef was 98 cents per pound, tomato soup was 5 cans for $1, and pears were 39 cents per pound at Rons’ Super Value.
    Mrs. Ronald Belt is the chairman of the Bubble Blow for Cystic Fibrosis.
    Macon City Clerk Gerald Maloney was honored for 25 years service to the city of Macon.
