  • Law enforcement locates man who says he was going to force a situation with officers

  • Law enforcement were notified Thursday afternoon of a male subject who had made a statement that he was possibly going to force a situation with officers. Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson said his department notified the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Macon Police Department for assistance in searching for the man The male was spotted from the highway patrol plane lying on his stomach on the abandoned railroad bridge near North Allen and Oak Streets, west of the Macon downtown area. When he was rolled over to his back after being handcuffed, officers discovered a loaded .40 caliber pistol. The sheriff said the white male was transported to the Macon County Jail, and was to be later transferred for psychiatric evaluation. Sheriff Dawson said there have been no charges filed on the subject. Pictured are officers with the male subject just west of the post office after he had been apprehended.
