The City of Macon anticipates receiving approximately $620,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for street infrastructure improvements.  CDBG funding is made available through the Missouri Department of Economic Development.  This infrastructure grant will aid the city in providing public infrastructure improvements needed to assist the expansion of Economy Products, Yutz Enterprises, LLC and Wyatt Enterprises, LLC facilities in Macon.
This project will create almost $1.8 Million in private investment and create several new full-time jobs.  This project will have significant economic impact for the City of Macon, as well as, the area. We are thrilled at what this grant means for not only the City of Macon and these three businesses, but also for future business development” said Denise Bennett, Macon County Economic Development Director.  “The timing of this project as it relates to the completion of Highway 36 is excellent.  The new road will serve as access points to these three businesses and other companies choosing to purchase lots and build facilities along this new road” says Bennett.  “It is an exciting time for our community with several development projects in 2010 and more to come in 2011.  The four lane completion of Highway 36 is already proving invaluable as a selling tool to attract new business” states Bennett.
Nixon Industrial Boulevard will be located between Kellogg Avenue and HBC Road running parallel to Highway 36.
