7th grade splits with Moberly

The Macon Middle School 7th grade basketball teams traveled to Moberly Tuesday night for a doubleheader with the Spartans.
The Tigeettes used a balanced attack and knocked out Moberly 31-14.
Scorers for Macon include Shelbe Butner with 12 points. Sherry Hodge scored 5 points.
Andrea Bright scored 4 points. Hannah Hartung, Joann Schwieter and Katie Clapp each scored 2 points.
The 7th grade Tigerettes improve to 2-1 overall.
The 7th grade boys had a really tough time.
Moberly jumped on Macon from the beginning, dropping 12 in the first quarter to Macon’s 1.
The Spartans continued to pound the Tigers in the second period, outscoring Macon 16-3 to take a 28-4 halftime lead.
Moberly outscored Macon 24-18 the rest of the way to secure a big 51-22 win over the Tigers.
Trae Adams, Christian Thrasher, Jacob Orbin and Aaron Brown each scored 4 points for Macon.
Collin Patrick scored 2 points. Brendan Watts, Caleb Perry, Skyler Thomas and Ryan Peterman each scored 1 point.
The 7th grade Tigers fall to 2-1 on the season.
Both 7th grade teams will travel west to Marceline Tuesday for a doubleheader with the Tigers.
