With their first CCC win under their belt, the Macon Tigerettes took their game east to Palmyra Friday night for a battle with the tough Lady Panthers.
Palmyra would have the edge in the first half, taking a 21-16 halftime lead.
The lead would grow to 30-21 after three periods, with Palmyra taking as much as a 12-point lead in the fourth period.
The Tigerettes would make a mad dash in that fourth period, outscoring Palmyra 15-9 to get within three points, but a late bucket by Palmyra would sink the Tigerettes’ hopes of a comeback, giving the Lady Panthers a 39-36 win.
“We had a great effort in the fourth period; we just had too many turnovers,” coach Dan Halley said.
Audrey Freeman led the Tigerettes with 10 points.
Paige Klocke, Valerie Schmidt and Kierstin Johnson each scored six points.
Trinity Rainey tallied five points, and Allison Bright added three points.
The Tigerettes fell to 5-10 overall (1-1 CCC) and faced off against Clark County Tuesday night.
