The Lady Raiders of MCR-IV looked to rebound from their loss to Mercer against the Lady Cardinals of Hale Friday for 3rd place at the Meadville Tourney.
The Lady Raiders would take a quick 9-5 lead, then Hale would hit some shots and took a 17-13 lead after a period. Scoring would slow down the rest of the way, with Hale leading 27-23 at halftime.
The Lady Raiders could not overcome their deficit, as the Lady Cardinals took a 48-37 win.
Sara Duncan and Bailey Ratliff led the Lady Raiders with 14 points each.
MCR-IV drops to 10-6 on the season.
The Raider men also took on Hale for 3rd place, with a different outcome.
MCR-IV came out shooting the ball well from beyond the arc, hitting five in the first period to take a 20-15 lead.
The Raiders would drop 11 points in the second, holding Hale to six to take a 31-21 halftime lead.
The Raiders controlled the tempo in the second half, and rolled to a 64-48 victory.
Alex Porter led the Raiders with 18 points, four rebounds and eight blocks. Jacob Klingsmith followed with 17 points and six rebounds.
Aaron Maddox had 16 points and six rebounds. Dillan Nolte had six points, five rebounds and six assists.
Damon Porter tallied five points, and Dylan Liebhart added two points and six rebounds.
The Raiders improve to 9-7 overall. MCR-IV goes to Novinger tonight.
