Hester Emeline Lammers, 100 years old, of Macon, MO passed away Sunday, January 29, 2012, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Hester was born on February 16, 1911, in Clarksburg, MO, the daughter of James Dallas and Margaret (Sullins) Reynolds.  She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Lammers on January 31, 1942, at St. Peter’s Cathedral in Jefferson City, MO.  Hester was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Macon Garden Club, Macon Country Club, Macon Business and Professional Women, past president of the Anti-Rust Club, and Immaculate Conception Alter Society.  She graduated from Tipton High School in 1929, and continued her studies at Sedalia Business College and Central Missouri State Teachers College.  She was a teacher for many years starting in rural one room school houses and then continuing to teach in Osceola, MO, California, MO, Macon County,  and for the Immaculate Conception Catholic School.        
She is survived by one son, Charles Lammers and wife Mary Beth of Macon, MO, two granddaughters Heather Lammers of St. Louis, MO, Lesley Lammers of Raleigh, NC; one grandson, Kurtis Lammers of Tampa, FL; three step-grandchildren, Jesse Jennings of Bevier, MO, Jennifer Hubbard and husband Kevin of Macon, MO, Christina Ferrier of husband Robert of Springfield, MO.
    Hester was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Loyd Reynolds, Robert Reynolds, and James Dallas Reynolds; two sisters, Matilda Gentzsch and Virginia Dewey and her grandchildren’s mother, Nancy Lammers.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, February 4, 2012, at 11 am at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Macon, with Father Dave Veit officiating.  Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Macon.  Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 7 pm at the Hutton & McElwain Funeral Home with a Vigil and Rosary service starting at 4:30 pm.  A Non-Denominational service with stories of remembrance will also be held Friday evening starting after the visitation.  In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials In Memory of Hester Lammers to the Immaculate Conception Catholic School (401 N. Rubey St. Macon, MO 63552).
