Derald Butner, 69, of Macon, MO, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at his home.
    Derald was born on January 29, 1943, in Macon, MO, the son of Roy William and Virginia Mae (Tiller) Butner. He was united in marriage to Betty Pagliai on June 21, 1964, at the Presbyterian Church in College Mound, MO.  Derald operated Butner Auto Service in Macon for 49 years.  He raised Black Angus cattle and enjoyed sitting on his deck, shooting off his deck, and especially spending time with his family.  Derald was a charter member of Crossroads Christian Church.
    He is survived by his wife, Betty of the home; their five children, Jeff Butner  of Kansas City, MO, Jonathan Butner and wife, Karen of Macon, Jody Butner and wife, DeDe of Macon, Joey Butner and wife, Bethany of Macon, and Julie Mitchell and husband, Jeremiah of Columbia, MO, sixteen grandchildren; Caleb, Seth, Emilee, Gracee, William, Levi, Audree, Logan, Megan, Callie, Shelbe, Ariana, Braden, Elias, Taylor and Samantha; his two brothers, Larry Butner and wife, Eva and his twin brother, Gerald Butner and wife, Kay, all of Macon, his sister, Mary Lou Stubbs and husband, Dave of Kirksville, MO, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.
    Derald was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Jimmy Clay Butner.
    Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 2, 2012, 11:00 am at the Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Brother Tim Worstell officiating.  Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorials Gardens.  Visitation will be on Wednesday evening, February 1, 2012, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.  The family suggests memorials to Randy Johnson Memorial Fund.
