HELPING OTHERS - On Sunday, First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Macon, put their faith and worship into action in a special worship event called, Service Sunday. In its inaugural year the church members worked to make a home in Macon safer and more livable for a person who was unable to do so for herself. Additionally, the children and the members unable to work at the home were able to plant patio tomato plants, explored new relationships with soldiers in Iraq, made bead bracelets for our "neighbors", and created useful walker cloth baskets and suncatchers for the elderly. First Christian Church and the Service Sunday leadership team plan to make this outreach an annual event and hope that one day every church in Macon will participate.
