MACON - Filing for the Aug. 3 Primary Election opens on Feb. 23, at 8 a.m., according to Macon County Clerk Pat Clarke. Filing closes on March 30 at 5 p.m.

Clarke said first day filers will select a number by random drawing to determine placement on the primary ballot. After the first day, candidates will be placed on the ballot in the order of their filing.

There will be a form available for the candidates to sign and notarize stating they are not aware of any delinquent taxes (local or state). A person must file at the county clerk’s office at the Macon County Courhouse, Building #1 101 E. Washington Street, Macon, Mo. 63552.
