GED graduation and student recognition ceremonies were held last evening at the Macon High School Cafeteria. Sandy Sunderland Executive Director of the Macon Literacy Center welcomed those attending. The invocation was give by Pastor Neal Lassinger. Musical selections were performed by Roscoe Rucker. Adult and Community Education Coordinator Stacey Blodgett introduced student speaker Melissa Conboy of Paris and commencement speaker Debbie Livingston, Macon R-I School Superintendent. A total of 32 students completed the requirements for their GED in Macon, Shelby and Monroe counties. Graduates attending the ceremony are pictured from left to right, first row: Ronda Smith, Laurana Goosey, Heather Richardson, Stephenie Shull, Jacquelyn Amidei, and Rebekah Janicke. Row two: Melissa Conboy, Aubrie Proctor, Andrea Miles, Samantha Lowery and David Golay. Row three: Melissa Snow, Paul Conboy, John “Curt” Sweeney, Jamie Landes, Chris Campbell and Judith Blakely.
