THE WAY WE WERE - Rose Harris, pictured right, was a guest speaker Tuesday afternoon at Macon R-I Elementary School’s classroom 2-B taught by Shellie Claiborne. Harris spoke to the students about the accomplishments of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. To help make the student’s learning come to life, Harris told the boys and girls about growing up in Macon and dealing with segregation. The annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Breakfast is to be held Monday at 7 a.m. in the Macon United Methodist Church multi-purpose building.
