HEROES, ONE AND ALL - On the calendar, Memorial Day has past and Veterans Day has yet to arrive, but there is not a day that goes by where homage should be paid to our everyday heroes... fireman, policemen, on-call rescuers, EMTs,  active military forces and the veterans, living and dead. State and military officials came out last Friday afternoon to do just that at a local nursing home 6th Annual Veterans Recognition Program. Forty-five Macon County veterans were awarded and recognized for their service in the United States Military. Approximately 150 people attended the ceremony on Friday.
