President Obama could possibly make a stop at Poet Biorefining, east of Macon during his trip to Missouri next week.
The White House announced Tuesday that President Barack Obama will travel to Iowa, Missouri and Illinois on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 27 and 28.
The president’s tentative schedule is to land in Quincy on Tuesday. He is expected to travel to Ottumwa for a town hall rally.
On Wednesday, he is to return to Quincy and then maybe travel to Macon.
Quincy, Ill., is also on the list of potential cities the president may visit next week.
The Macon Lions Club held their annual 73rd annual Easter Egg Hunt Sunday at the Macon County Fairgrounds Park. Each year 1000s of eggs are placed in a selected area at the park for four different age groups to find their prize. Lion members said approximately 165 children participated in this year's event.
Lexie Rachelle Ross was born at 12:18 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, 2010, at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia. Lexie is the daughter of Neal and Stacey Ross, of Atlanta. Lexie was also welcomed by her proud 7-year-old brother, Bryce. Lexie weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces and was 20.5 inches in length. Her grandparents are Donald and Terry Ross of Atlanta and Ronald and Karen Bragg of LaPlata. She is the great-granddaughter of Marjorie Mossbarger and Martha Bragg, both of LaPlata.
WE’VE GOT SPIRIT - Tri-County Christian School started their spirit week Monday by wearing pajamas. The students, faculty and parents at TCCS are preparing for the annual May Day celebration that is being held Saturday, May 1. On Tuesday, the students are to have crazy hair and miss-matched clothing. On Wednesday, the students may bring their favorite stuffed animal to share with their class. Thursday is retro day and students may wear clothing representing the 1920s, 40s, 60s, or 80s. On Friday, students are to wear a hat and sunglasses and red shirt day stating May Day is so cool. The May Day celebration starts at 7 a.m. Saturday with a 3-on-3-basketball tournament.

The date for the 5th annual Juneteenth celebration is set for Saturday, June 28, at the Rubey Street Park in Macon beginning at 11 a.m.
Juneteenth is a celebration of the final days of slavery. The day will be filled with entertainment, great food and many other activities.
