The owner of El Mezcal 2 a Mexican restaurant in Macon, Jesus H. Granillo-Lopez, 45, of Kirksville is in custody at the Macon County Jail on an immigration violation.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a traffic stop was made east of Macon and Granillo-Lopez was charged with felony no operator license, registration violation and immigration violation.
He is being held without bond in the Macon County Jail awaiting pickup by the Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE)
Annual bus inspection by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for area schools was held Thursday, Feb. 2, in the bus barn of Macon R-1 School District.

Carla Cagle’s 1st grade class wrote a letter to President Barack Obama in November 2011 as a Social Studies project. The students asked the President about the White House and his dog among other questions. The President responded to the class with a letter and photos. The picture was taken Tuesday afternoon on the school’s 100th day of school.
A few students got a surprise Tuesday afternoon when a C-H photographer popped in to catch them for a Courtwarming Spirit Week picture. Each day of this week students were to dress in a video game theme. Monday was NBA 2K12 - wear any sport jersey; Tuesday students were to wear black clothing - Call of Duty Black Ops; Wednesday they are to dress like a rock star - Rock Star game; Thursday they are to dress as twins - Super Mario Brothers; and Friday students are to wear orange and black for Wii Play, Wii Win!! On Friday night, the Macon Tigers and Tigerettes will play Highland Cougars and Lady Cougars. The girl’s game is to start at 6 p.m.
