After an extensive search around Macon County,  and an arrest of one of two suspects officials called off the manhunt around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Macon Police Chief Steve Olinger, two men fled on foot around 3:30 a.m. when they were spotted attempting to  burglarize Rock Hill Mechanical, located on Lake Street, north of Macon. The U-Haul truck, the vehicle the suspects were using in the burglary, was recovered at the scene, and it was determined it to be stolen from the Kansas City area. It was impounded by the police.
One of the suspects, Jimmy Douglas Hilt, 26, a Kansas City man was apprehended by officers around 8:30 a.m. in a bean field just north of Macon. He was taken into custody and transported to the Macon Police Department for processing.
Chief Olinger said officers believe the second suspect is no longer in the area.
“We believe he has changed his clothes and is heading back to Kansas City.” Chief Olinger said. “The second suspect is 6’ -6’2” tall, 220-250 lbs.
The Macon Police Department was assisted by the Macon County Sheriffs Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol and Department of Conservation.    Law enforcement believe the suspects may be involved in multiple thefts from Rock Hill Mechanical.
