  • At approximately 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, the Macon Police Department responded to a report of a multiple vehicle accident on Highway 36 at Kellogg Avenue. This crash occurred as vehicle two, driven by Donald Foster of Macon, was traveling Northbound on Kellogg Ave. crossing Hwy 36. Vehicle two continued to cross Westbound 36 and was struck by vehicle one, driven by William Brown of Shelbina, which was Westbound on Highway 36. Vehicle two spun and stopped in the middle of Westbound traffic on Hwy. 36. Vehicle one skid, struck vehicle three, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a Macon City sign. Vehicle three, driven by Edward Tumlin of Macon, had been stopped facing southbound at the stop sign on Kellogg Avenue prior to impact. Brown and a passenger were transported to Samaritan Hospital in reference to injuries. Brown stated he was in the right lane when Foster drove in front of them. All three vehicles were towed due to disabling damage. Following this chain of events, another vehicle became involved causing a second accident at the same scene. This accident occurred as vehicle one, driven by Everett Mallett of Bevier, was traveling westbound on Highway 36 approaching the accident scene and struck vehicle two (of the first accident) which was stopped after impacting a vehicle as mentioned above. Mallett of this accident was also towed from the scene. No further injuries were reported as a result of the second accident. The Macon Police Department was assisted by the Macon County Ambulance and the Macon Fire Department at the scene.
