  • Alfred McGee, 91, of Bevier, MO, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the Samaritan Memorial Hospital in Macon, MO.
    Alfred was born on Feb 3, 1922, in Macon, MO, the son of Levic and Paulina (Burkhardt) McGee.  He was united in marriage to Marjorie Sumpter in 1948, in Aurora Colorado.  Alfred retired from MODOT in 1996.  He was of Christian faith and enjoyed gardening, working with cattle, the Rutledge flea market, and spending time with family.
    He is survived by his wife Marjorie of the home, one daughter Joann McPeters and husband Billy Jo of North Carolina; two sons, James McGee and wife Cindy of Van Buren, MO, Wayne McGee of Bevier, MO; six grandchildren, Jimmy McPeters of North Carolina, Molly Barbour of Virginia, Kim Houf of Van Buren, MO, Carrie Chiarottino of Bevier, MO, Chrissy Graupman of Paris, MO, Anthony McGee of Wyoming, and 12 great grandchildren.
    Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Hazel Icke and Helen Icke, and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be Saturday, November 9, 2013, at 11 am, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Macon.  Burial will be in the Richardsdale cemetery in Bevier, MO.  Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9 am until the time of the service.
