  • The Macon Career Center received a $15,000 grant from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The grant will be used to pay for teaching salaries, student scholarships, and supplies and materials for students participating in the Child Development Associate program.
    The Child Development Associate Credential is the most widely recognized credential in early childhood education and is a key stepping stone on the path of career advancement in early childhood education. The Child Development Associate Credential is based on a core set of competency standards, which guide early care professionals as they work toward becoming qualified teachers of young children. The Child Development Associate Credential is nationally-transferable and is recognized by the child care profession as a vital part of qualification and professional development.
    Students who successfully enroll in the CDA program through the Macon Career Center are awarded a scholarship in the full amount of tuition.
