  • On October 22, at approximately 7:16 p.m. the Macon Police Department responded to a motor vehicle accident on North Rollins Street. The accident occurred when vehicle one was traveling north on Rollins Street approaching Daughtery Street.
    While traveling, driver one crossed over into the other lane and struck a concrete utility pole causing it to break and fall to the ground. Macon Municipal Utilities assisted at the scene. Macon County Ambulance responded to assist at the scene as well. Driver, a 16-year old male, and a 16-year old passenger of vehicle were checked out and released to their parents. Neither name was released from the Macon Police Department. Two additional passengers of vehicle one were transported to Samaritan Hospital for further evaluation. A witness was identified and also described the incident to officers. Vehicle one sustained major damage and was towed from the scene. Driver one was issued a summons for failure to drive on right half of roadway and was later released pending a municipal court date.
    Regarding the accident yesterday at the intersection of U.S. 63 and U.S. 36 involving an Adair County Ambulance and one other vehicle, the Macon Police Department has not released any information at this time.
