The Macon Rotary Club held its seventh annual Shrimpfest Dinner this weekend, and President Darin Eleazarraraz says it was quite successful.
"It went really well," said Eleazarraraz. "We had fantastic attendance and we are hearing great things about the event as well."
There were approximately 415 individuals in attendance. Guests got to enjoy a shrimp and prime rib dinner with all the sides. There was also a live auction and cash drawing at the event.
"We really had some great auction items this year," said Eleazarraraz. "So luckily those items really helped bring in a good amount."
The funds raised at this event go toward future projects of the Macon Rotary Club. Eleazarraraz stated it has not been decided at this time which project it will fund, but will be decided once all proceeds from the event have been calculated.
"The best thing about this event is that we were so amazed with the support from the public," said Eleazarraraz. "It has become that great of an event that people are really looking forward to it each year. With the support of the community and everyone involved, it has become quite the marquee event for the community."
