Members of the Macon Women of Today met on Tuesday, Oct. 1, at the home of Deb Keithley. A carry-in dinner consisting of Mexican food was held prior to business meeting.
Guests were Kelly Pedigo, Co-Director and Volunteer Coordinator of Safe Passage and Jessie Shackelford, Safe Passage board member and volunteer. Safe Passage is a women and children's shelter located in Moberly that serves several counties including Macon. Pedigo and Shackelford gave a program about the services of the shelter.
The Women of Today will be sponsoring a free Women's Self-Defense course on Sunday, Oct. 20 at Macon Martial Arts, 127 Vine Street in Macon from 2 to 4 p.m. To register you may email:email@example.com or call Sheryl at 660-346-0314 or 888-582-7077.
The group is currently selling Innisbrook wrapping paper. Proceeds from the sales are going toward the YMCA's youth programs and Ronald McDonald house.
Plans were discussed for a visitation to the Kirksville WOT's Fall Craft Show on Oct. 26, a membership activity on Nov. 2 at the Royal Theater and a family activity at a corn maze on Oct. 27.
The next meeting of the Macon Women of Today is scheduled for Nov. 5 at the home of Tania Pagliai beginning at 7 p.m. Connie Kuhman will serve as co-hostess.
