More than 60 Macon R-I students, faculty and community members gathered at the flag poll in front of the high school early Wednesday morning for the annual See You at the Pole event. JoAnn Schwieter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes welcomed those attending and read a Bible verse from II Chronicles 7:14, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." The crowd divided into small groups to pray for the school, community, nation and the world. Juice, milk and donuts were served following the prayers. SYATP was started in 1990 by some teens in Burleson, Texas and is now held throughout the nation annually on the 4th Wednesday of September.
