According to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sergeant Brent Bernhardt, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, September 16, Highway Patrol received information from the Macon County Sheriff's Department about an attempted kidnapping in New Cambria.
"We assisted the County with it and looked in different areas but never located the suspects," said Bernhardt. "It seems the girl was able to get away from the vehicle."
According to the Macon County Emergency Management website, the vehicle was a black utility van with black wheels, and windows on both the side and back. The driver was described to have scruffy hair and a longer beard. The passenger was described as a heavy set white male, bad, wearing black clothing and a sleeve tattoo on his right arm.
The exact location in New Cambria of the attempted kidnapping is unknown by the Highway Patrol.
