The Macon Police Department was notified of suspicious activity in the 100 block of West Bourke Street at approximately 12:55 a.m. on August 13. It was reported that individuals were seen getting into vehicles in the area.
Macon Police Officers responded to the scene and located three juvenile suspects, one of which attempted to flee from the area on foot. Officers were able to apprehend the three juvenile males ages 13, 14 and 15.
All three suspects were transported to the Macon Police Department for further investigation. Parents and the Macon County Juvenile Office were contacted. The juveniles were then turned over to Juvenile authorities for their handling. All suspects were interviewed at the police department.
During the investigation, police confirmed these juveniles were also responsible for several vehicle break-ins over the past month. Evidence of theft from vehicles was recovered at the time of arrest. As a result of the investigation, officers recovered a stolen handgun. The gun was reported stolen from a vehicle here in Macon on July 10, 2013.
