Naomi Bell Robinson, 97, of Macon, MO, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, at Macon Health Care Center in Macon.
Naomi was born in December 21, 1915, in Sullivan County, MO, the daughter of Oliver and Daisy (Bell) Riley. She married James E. Robinson on December 13, 1952. Naomi worked in Kansas City for many years as a nanny and then worked telephone sales at A. G. Grocery Store. After marrying James, she worked as inspector at their dry cleaning business. Naomi babysat for many years and watched many Macon area children. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Macon.
Naomi is survived by one daughter, Anna Johnston of Macon; two grandchildren, Philanda Slagle and her husband, Bill and Adam Johnston and his wife, Cheryl; five great-grandchildren, Faith and Daisy Slagle, Desirae, Avery and Ayden Johnston; four nephews and their families, and two cousins and their families.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, James in August of 1956; her son-in-law, her brother and sister-in-law, two nephews and two great-grandchildren, Hubie and Markie Ann Slagle.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 29, 2013, at 11:00 am, at Hutton and McElwain Funeral Home in Macon with Rev. Mr. Bernie Toll officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens north of Macon. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or the Immaculate Conception Church School.
