    CNN reported that Caroline Kennedy was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as U.S. ambassador to Japan. Kennedy is the daughter of President John F. Kennedy and the only surviving member of the president’s immediate family. Kennedy pondered a run for Senate in 2009 but decided not to.

    The royal baby was given a name today: George Alexander Louis. The Clarence House said the boy will be known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.
