The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to an accident on eastbound U.S. 36 five miles east of Macon at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Friday, July 19. Clint Hipkins, 45, of Shelbina struck the towed unit of vehicle two, which was driven by Charles Foreman, 54, of Anabel. After the collision, Foreman's John Deere Farm Tractor traveled off the right side of the roadway and overturned on its left side. Hipkins' Ford F250 traveled off the left side of the roadway and caught fire. Both individuals were wearing their safety devices and were transported by private vehicle to Samaritan Hospital with minor injury.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Macon County Sheriff's Department, Macon Rural Fire Department, Macon EMS and Macon Rescue Squad.
