Mrs. Jack Talbot, clerk of the Selective Service Board number 65 was honored with a certificate for outstanding contribution to the Selective Service.
The Macon Public Schools annual financial report from July 1, 1957 to July 1, 1958 listed the total revenue as $357,292.16. and total expenditures as $371,070.53. The secretary to the board received a salary of $150. The superintendent’s salary was listed as $6,500 and the total amount paid to teachers was $153,463.72. The total transportation costs which included salaries, insurance on busses, operation & maintenance expenses was $23,798.40.
