    David Will of Macon has been employed by the Missouri Power and Light Company in the capacity of District Engineer.
    Bates Conrad of Macon Maytag signed a 1959 Zenith franchise while Miss Missouri looked on.
    Mrs. Bennett Strong, Mrs. Harry Still and Mrs. Shale Kemper were hostesses at the Macon County Club’s Ladies Day Luncheon.
    Miss Fern Harrington of Atlanta, a Baptist Missionary to the Philippines is the author of a children's book, “Carlos and the Green Car.” She is the daughter of Mrs. and Mrs. Quincy Harrington.
    Neunaker’s Grocery advertised a pound of bacon and a loaf of bread for 69 cents. Cottage cheese was 19 cents, cucumbers were two for 9 cents and ground beef was  two pounds for 98 cents.
