A tribute to Veterans was held on Thursday, June 13, as a part of the annual ice cream social at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.

All Veterans present and members of the Patriot Guard attending the ceremony were also asked to stand and be recognize.
Rev. Dalrymple addressed the crowd as the guest speaker.
"We forget here in the USA that we are at war," said Dalrymple. "Our sons and daughters are in a war zone in a foreign land. I pray for their safety and for the safety of our National Guard Unit as they are deployed."
Capt. Gaono-Taise spoke to the veterans.
"I have so much respect for all of you," he said. "If it were not for you guys laying down the foundation we would have nothing to serve. God Bless you veterans and God Bless the USA!"
Following the program those attending could feast on ice cream and cake while entertained by music from the band Sway.
