  • On Saturday, June 16 at approximately 7:10 p.m., Colby Peukert, 15, of Bevier was driving northbound on Intrepid Road one mile southeast of Bevier when he struck a mud puddle and wash out in the roadway. Peukert lost control of the Dodge Ram and skidded off the right side of the roadway striking an embankment. The Dodge Ram became airborne striking a fence and then came to a rest in a ditch. The driver was ejected.
    Peukert was not wearing his safety device and was in serious condition. He was transported by Staff for Life Helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia.
    Missouri State Highway Patrol was assisted by Macon County Sheriff's Department, Macon County Rescue Squad and Bevier Fire Department.
