Downtown Macon was closed down Saturday evening for the ninth annual Boots & Black Tie fundraiser for the Maples Repertory Theatre.
"This event is crucial for getting the Maples Rep summer season off to a great start," said Artistic Director Todd Davison.
The event featured wine tasting, hors d'oeurves, a gourmet dinner prepared by Executive Chef of the Pear Tree, silent and live auction.
"The event was a success and there were a lot of first timers in attendance," said Becky Belt. "We met our monetary goal too which will go a long way."
All of the musicians, directors, costumers and technical staff are hired to live and work in Macon. Most of the funds raised from this event go toward their payroll.
"Without the donations of the community, the success of the theatre would not be possible," said Belt.
