  • Four things to know about the Board of Public Works meeting

  • 1. Public Works is proceeding with two budgeted asset replacements—a lawn tractor trade-purchase for the wastewater treatment plant and replacement of two multi-use tractors with one tractor.
    2. The City pool opened on May 27 after being filled. Also, the Long Branch intake pump is being repaired and the pump will be reinstalled in the near future.
    3. Various routine work regarding underground facilities was completed. Work includes concrete pours for dress-up work, inspected new services, abandoned services, repaired a water main leak, continues work with the quarterly gas leak survey, and the gas main pipe was received on site for the Macon Fower Memorial Airport gas line relocation project.
    4. Crews, regarding power plant and electric distribution, completed the system grounding project where 475 ground rods were installed throughout the electric distribution system.
