  • The Macon R-I Board of Education met in executive session on Wednesday evening in the central conference room.
    Superintendent Dr. Chuck Stockton released the following action:
    The board accepted the resignation of Ruth Rash who is retiring as a career center business teacher.
    Other resignations were accepted from Richelle Shoemaker from the position of high school head cheerleading coach, Laurie Gilchrist as special education speech pathologist and Angie Lewis as elementary Title I teacher.
    Employment was offered to Shelley Ellis as high school head cheerleading coach, Richelle Shoemaker as high school assistant cheerleading coach, Rebecca Brightwell as middle school cheerleading coach, Michael Keeney as high school JV boys basketball coach and Melissa Francis as elementary school teacher.
    The next regular meeting of the board is scheduled for Thursday, May 30 in the central conference room beginning at 6 p.m.
