  • The following Macon Moment in History was taken from the May 21, 1998 edition of the Macon Chronicle-Herald.
    The location for the 40-mile stretch of Highway 36 between Monroe City and Macon were finalized.
    Members of Girl Scout Troop 512 joined members of American Legion Post 29 to paint crossed to be placed on veterans' graves. Among those helping were: Kathryn Theerman, Sarah Johnson, Keri Vik, Jennifer Hoover.
    Area Youth: Adam and Aaron Brown, were celebrating their 2nd Birthday on May 21, 1998. They are the twin sons of Angela Newland and Roger Brown.
    Good Will Hunting and For Richer or Poorer were playing at the Macon Drive-In Theater.
