  • Artwork filled the Macon Middle School hallway and art room on Monday evening. Creations from middle schoolers and some fifth graders were on display at an Art Show held prior to the middle school choir concert.
    First, second and third place ribbons were awarded in both 2-D and 3-D projects for 6th, 7th and 8th grades. The 5th grade was not judged.
    Art instructor Julie Smith said that a giraffe created by eighth graders Keitlin LaFaver was selected Best of Show.
    Some of the mediums used by the students included: mixed media, gel pens, word art, print making, drawing, markers, water color, tempera paint, colored pencils and scratch boards.
    Winners were:
    6th grade 2-D - 1st, Hunter Propst; 2nd, Allison Roberts; 3rd, Case Murr.
    6th grade 3-D - 1st, Dalton Fields; 2nd, Brenden Welch; 3rd, Carlee Wilt.
    7th grade 2-D - 1st, Mikayla Arnold; 2nd, Spritea Beard; 3rd, Brayden Morgan.
    7th grade 3-D - 1st, Hallie Wilt; 2nd, Mikayla Arnold; 3rd, Megan Cashatt.
    8th grade 2-D - 1st, Keitlin LaFaver; 2nd, Haleigh Nerini; 3rd, Kallysta Frey.
    8th grade 3-D - 1st, Louis Smith; 2nd, Hailey Nerini; 3rd, Zach Peterman.
