Immaculate Conception School's first Cinco de Mayo celebration gave the school more to celebrate than just Cinco de Mayo.
"We raised approximately $4,000," said School Board President Jenny Gabriel.
"The funds will go toward new desks and chairs primarily and will help pay for a mobile lab as well."
The Cinco de Mayo celebration was on Saturday, May 4 in the Immaculate Conception Church basement. It featured a quarter auction, buffet, cash bar and 50/50 drawing.
"We had a lot of great support from the community, the parish and families that made it successful," said Gabriel. "For it being the first year, everybody had a great time."
