  • Come on down for the greatest show on Earth! Or in this case, the biggest fundraiser of the year for Tri-County Christian School.
Saturday, May 4, Tri-County held its annual May Day Festival. This years theme was Under the Big Top. There were carnival booths and food, a baby show (look out for pictures later this week), a pet parade promenade, kiss the pig contest (picture on A8), live and silent auction and a Little Mr. & Miss May Day competition.
"It was a great turnout," said Principal Kala Bunse. "We were kinda concerned about the weather but we still had lots of people come which was great."
The funds raised from the event go toward curriculum, teacher training and any other extra needs the school may have.
School volunteer Chloe Thomas won the kiss the pig contest.
"We had little pig containers with each staff picture on them and the kids voted for who they wanted to kiss the pig by voting with box tops," said Bunse. "We get 10 cents for every top and we raised about $500 through that."
The school raised an estimate of $8,000 from the event.
