    The Macon Rotary Club was celebrating their 15th anniversary. Ward Harrington was Rotary President.
    The Missouri National Pony Sale is being planned for May 10-12, 1956 at Lolli Sale Pavilion. Over 600 ponies were expected.
    Ben Franklin advertised parakeets as the perfect Mother's Day gift for $1.25. Cages were $2.98 & $3.79.
    The 1956 Callao High School graduates were: Sue Britt, Sharon Martin, Nancy Kirk, Anita Frazier, Jim Richter, Shirley Day Leath, Carol Milburn, Dean Day Janet Ford, Charlotte Walls and David Kitts.
